Dr. Jon Wold
San Tan Eye Care
Following a 2 year church service mission to Romania, Dr. Wold received his Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University in 1999 and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2003. He completed his externship at Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center in Mesa, AZ and Indian Health Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Wold is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Arizona Optometric Association. Dr. Wold married his wife, Emily Taylor, in 1996 and they have five children: Allison, Adam, Nathan, Ryan, and Katie. In his spare time, he enjoys going to concerts, traveling with his wife, basketball with his boys, biking, hiking, and spending time with family.
Dr. Justin Jones

Dr. Justin Jones received a Bachelor degree in Biology and in Vision Science and his Doctorate of Optometry degree with Honors from Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Oklahoma. Dr. Jones completed an ocular disease internship at Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital in 2005. Dr. Jones is active in the Arizona Optometric Association, Contact Lens and Cornea Section, and the AOA Political Action committee. Dr. Jones has been a resident of Arizona since 2005. Dr. Jones is married to, Darcy, who is also an optometrist. She works with the Gila River Tribe. Both Justin and Darcy are originally from Oklahoma, but they are now glad to call Phoenix home!
Dr. Bart Pemberton, FAAO

Dr. Pemberton received his BA in Biology from the University of California at Riverside in 1991 and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1995. He completed a one-year residency in Hospital-based Optometry at the VA Medical Center in Amarillo, TX, in 1996. He has practiced in Tucson, AZ since 1997, and he has practiced with Drs. Edmonds and Husz since 1999. He is a past president of the Southern Arizona Optometric Society, a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and a member of the American and Arizona Optometric Associations. He has participated in several studies for the contact lens industry. He also served as an assistant adjunct clinical professor for the Pacific University College of Optometry from 2001 to 2017.
Dr. Armanae Mancha
Family Eyecare of Scottsdale
Dr. Mancha was born in Odessa, Texas. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry degree Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2003. After practicing in Texas and Arizona for 14 years, Dr. Mancha happily joined Family Eyecare of Scottsdale as a partner.
Dr. Mancha brings a passion for working with children of all ages. She is one of 60 optometrists in Arizona who examines infants from 6 months of age to 1 year at no charge. She also provides comprehensive eye exams to diagnose and manage all eye health issues, including glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and ocular conditions associated with diabetes.
Dr. Mancha is also certified to perform corneal reshaping therapy/orthokeratology for patients who have progression of near-sightedness. She served as a clinical examiner for the National Optometry Board and has also been a clinical investigator for several contact lens manufacturers assisting in the development of new contact lenses.

Dr. Beth Pyle-Smith

Dr. Beth Pyle-Smith received her Bachelor of Science degree at University of California at Riverside in 1989. She then moved on to graduate from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1993. A job opportunity allowed her to relocate to Arizona where she worked for an HMO for 8 years. Following a mission trip to Guatemala with Dr A James Frank, she then joined his practice in 2001. In 2017, she purchased the practice and renamed it Estrella Mountain Eye Care. She enjoys practicing full-scope optometry and sees infants to seniors. She strives to serve her patients to the best of her abilities in addition to educating them on their eye conditions while still having fun. She has been on the Arizona Optometric Association’s Board of Directors for over 7 years and has enjoyed every moment of being in the leadership role for the state association. Serving the general and optometric communities have been extremely rewarding to her.
She grew up in Southern California and moved to Arizona to be closer to her aging grandparents. She has now become a true Arizonan yet misses the ocean breezes from her home town occasionally, especially when its hot here. She has been married for 20 years and has two beautiful teenage kids who keep her very busy! She enjoys watching them compete in swim, be taxi driver, mom, wife and “Suzie-homemaker.” And to just add to the mix: dogs, chickens, and a father-in-law… did she say teenage kids?? Oh, she loves to stay busy!
Dr. Chad A. Carlsson, FAAO

Chad A. Carlsson, OD, FAAO has been dedicated to excellence in optometry since 2003, when he graduated with honors from Illinois College of Optometry and completed a Contact Lens and Binocular Vision Disorders residency program. During his residency, Dr. Carlsson worked to manage various forms of visual dysfunctions in children and adults, including strabismus, amblyopia, and other accommodative disorders. He gained hands-on experience delivering advanced care, by treating and managing ocular pathologies such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and uveitis, anterior segment disease, and specialty contact lens fittings. Carlsson Family Eye Center opened in 2006, making Dr. Carlsson’s dream of providing superior family eye care a reality. Dr. Carlsson is consistently recognized for his expertise and dedication to patient care. He’s earned Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry (2008), was elected Young Optometrist of the Year (2013), and profiled in the AOA Focus Magazine (2014). He’s also an Amazon bestselling author. Today, he is an active member of the Arizona Optometric Association and serves as Chairman of the AOA-PAC committee for the AZOA. Dr. Carlsson is responsible for gaining support from fellow AZOA members that meet with Congressmen on Capitol Hill to lobby for our patient’s best interests. Dr. Carlsson enjoys serving his community as much as he enjoys serving his patients. He’s a member of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce and has served as Gilbert Kiwanis Past President serving Gilbert’s youth on a local and national level. And most recently, he became a member of the AHEPA men’s group to further his commitment to the community. Dr. Carlsson and his wife Anne, who manages the Carlsson Family Eye practice, live in Gilbert and have 4 children.
Dr. Jamie Kuhn, FAAO, FSLS

Originally from Northern California, Dr. Kuhn received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from the University of California at Davis. She graduated cum laude from the Southern California College of Optometry with an interest in Contact Lenses and Corneal Disease and then completed a residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry. She is currently working as an Associate Optometrist at Vista Eye Care, in Green Valley, Arizona.
Previously faculty of the College of Optometry at Midwestern University in Arizona, Dr. Kuhn supervised care of patients in contact lenses and ocular prosthetic devices, as well as served as both a clinical and didactic professor in multiple courses of instruction.
Dr. Kuhn is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society, and a committee member for the Arizona Optometric Association. She consults with industry partners to educate professionals and students via lectures sponsored by Alcon, TruForm Optics, and various continuing education seminars both locally and nationwide. She is also rigorously involved with the state association to educate the public and legislative leaders on the ability of optometrists to address the visual and ocular health needs of the population. Additionally, Dr. Kuhn is involved in clinical research in partnership with her group, the Scleral Lens Assessment by Patients and Practitioners Study, and has several publications in Optometric journals, editorials, and books.
Dr. Logan Ragan

Dr. Ragan joined Northsight Vision Care in June 2015 after graduating with Beta Sigma Kappa Honors from Midwestern University. He did extern training at the Regional Hospital Eye Clinic in Nome, Alaska & Bowden Eye Surgical Centers of Jacksonville, Florida; both of which gave him extensive ocular disease experience. Dr. Ragan is great with kids and has experience with all the latest contact lens technology. He has been a superb addition to our practice. Dr. Ragan is very active as a community volunteer. He earned the 2016 AZ Optometric Association Visionary Award for his work and was the 2018 AZOA Young OD of the Year.
Dr. Danielle Remington

Danielle Remington, OD is an Ohio native who received her doctorate of Optometry from The Ohio State University after receiving her Bachelors of Science degree in biology at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. Dr. Remington then continued on to complete her ocular disease residency at Erdey Searcy Eye Group, a surgical practice where management of emergent and chronic anterior segment disease, diabetes, glaucoma and post-operative care were emphasized. In 2016, Dr. Remington made the move to Arizona where she joined Ophthalmic Surgeons and Physicians. She has a passion to practice full-scope Optometry including comprehensive examinations, diabetic eye exams, contact lens fits, glaucoma evaluations and management, post-op care and emergency cases. Outside of the office Dr. Remington enjoys being an active member of the American Optometric Association in addition to being on Arizona Optometric Association Board of Directors. In her free time she opts to be outdoors hiking, camping, traveling and cheering on her Buckeyes.
Dr. Alicia Feis has been promoted to Dean of the Arizona College of Optometry after serving in assistant and associate deanships dealing with academic affairs at the Midwestern University Eye Institute. Dr. Alicia Feis joined Midwestern University in 2011 after practicing vision therapy at a private primary care facility. She brings clinical experience from the Southern California College of Optometry as well as the Illinois College of Optometry, where she served as an instructor. During her post-doctoral residency, Dr. Feis focused on pediatrics and binocular vision at the Illinois College of Optometry. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Bio-Psychology at the University of California Santa Barbara and her Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree at the Southern California College of Optometry.
Originally from Lockport, N.Y. he attended Erie Community College in Buffalo and received an AAS degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing and attended the University of Nevada – Las Vegas for two years before moving to Memphis and graduating from the Southern College of Optometry in 1984. Dr. Meier has held leadership roles in local, state and regional Optometric associations and was appointed to the Arizona Board of Optometry by then Governor Janet Napolitano. Along with having a private optometry practice in Phoenix, he has served as the AZOA Executive Director since 2011.
